The Environmental Justice Resource Center (EJRC) at Clark Atlanta University was formed in 1994 to serve as a research, policy, and information clearinghouse on issues related to environmental justice, race and the environment, civil rights and human rights, facility siting, land use planning, brownfields, transportation equity, suburban sprawl and smart growth, energy, global climate change, and climate justice. The overall goal of the center is to assist, support, train, and educate people of color students, professionals, and grassroots community leaders with the goal of facilitating their inclusion into the mainstream of decision-making. The center is multidisciplinary in its focus and approach. It serves as a bridge among the social and behavioral sciences, health professionals, natural and physical sciences, engineering, management, and legal disciplines to prevent and solve environmental and health problems. The center's programs build on the work that it staff has been engaged in for over two decades.

National Black Graduate Students Association (NBGSA)

NBGSA is the premiere interdisciplinary graduate student organization. It strives to meet the needs of the wide variety of graduate and professional students. Its website is designed to reach out not only to currently enrolled graduate students, but also to enhance awareness and increase the enrollment of undergraduate students who are interested in pursuing graduate or professional degrees.

The National Black Law Students Association (NBLSA), founded in 1968, is a national organization formed to articulate and promote the needs and goals of black law students and effectuate change in the legal community. The headquarters of NBLSA is located in Washington, D.C. NBLSA encourages the development of talented, social conscious lawyers of tomorrow. Each year, the organization holds an annual convention to engage in legal activism and prepare new generations of black lawyers to "effectuate change."

The mission of NOBCChE therefore is to build an eminent community of scientists and engineers by increasing the number of minorities in these fields. NOBCChE will achieve its mission through diverse programs designed to foster professional development and encourage students to pursue careers in science and technical fields. To this end, NOBCChE will establish educational partnerships with school districts, municipalities, businesses, industries, other institutions and organizations in the public and private sectors.

The Video Access Alliance is dedicated to gaining the support of public policy makers, industry leaders and the public at large for the rapid deployment of additional advanced technology-based platforms. The Alliance consists of internet content providers, emerging and minority networks, programmers, entertainers and other industry participants.The Alliance's primary mission is to:pursue public policies to accelerate competitive entry of alternative communications platforms and expand the options for reaching audiences that are open to independent emerging and minority networks, independent programmers, film and TV producers and other content creators;ensure more advanced communications platforms with more capacity are deployed to carry our programming; promote the unique offerings of independent networks; educate the public policy makers on the important role that independent, emerging and minority networks, independent programmers, film and TV producers and other content creators play in content development and consumer choice; enable new providers, emerging and minority networks, programmers, entertainers and other industry participants who use the latest technology to better organize and present programming.

Black Career Women (BCW) is a national organization headquartered in Cincinnati, OH. Although the organizations does not have chapters, its membership is national. The organization, founded in 1977 serves as a nucleus of support to identify and address the critical needs of black women in the workforce as it relates to their career mobility and achievement. BCW's members are diverse representing aspiring and achieving women workers from entry level to executive level.

Black Culinarians Alliance

The BCA is a nationwide non-profit, educational and networking organization of hospitality and food service professionals. Incorporated as a 501(c)(3) in 1998, its mission is to create exposure and provide educational and professional opportunities for culinary and hospitality professionals of color. It accomplishes this objective by providing quality educational and employment resources, job coaching, mentoring and assistance with placement, and networking support. Additionally, the BCA exposes inner-city high school students to the culinary arts through a series of workshops that serve to introduce culinary arts as a viable career option.

Blacks In Government was organized in 1975 and incorporated as a non-profit organization under the District of Columbia jurisdiction in 1976. BIG has been a national response to the need for African Americans in public service to organize around issues of mutual concern and use their collective strength to confront workplace and community issues. BIG's goals are to promote EQUITY in all aspects of American life, EXCELLENCE in public service, and OPPORTUNITY for all Americans.
